13 cheetahs at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh receive special ointment treatment to prevent septicemia.
Cheetahs at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh are receiving special ointment treatment to prevent septicemia, a deadly bacterial infection that killed three cheetahs last year. The cursorial predators, brought to India as part of a translocation project from South Africa and Namibia, are being treated with anti-ecto parasite medicine imported from South Africa. The ointment is applied to all 13 adult cheetahs to ensure their well-being during the rainy season.
