Despite challenging weather, Chatham-Kent FlightFest took place, attracting families to the airport event hosted by Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA) YCK. The free event featured various aircraft on display, activities, entertainment and 85 vendors, culminating in fireworks to mark Canada Day. Gord Haslam, the organization's president, praised the community support, highlighting the hard work of 35 volunteers and air cadets. Planning for the event began six months ago, with the goal of engaging young people in aviation and flight.
