28-year-old former D.C. corrections officer Marcus Bias was sentenced to 42 months in prison and 24 months of supervised release for assaulting a handcuffed inmate in 2019. Bias pleaded guilty in March to a civil rights offense for ramming the detainee's head into a metal door frame. The assault occurred after the detainee, who was already restrained, allegedly struck another corrections officer.
