The US Supreme Court denied a settlement deal for Purdue Pharma, the maker of OxyContin, and its owners, the Sackler family. The $6 billion deal would have seen Purdue converted into a public benefits corporation, with profits used to fight the opioid crisis and the Sacklers contributing up to $6 billion.
