Union claims Boeing's cost-cutting with suppliers since 2012 harmed its supply chain and manufacturing process.

Union Says Boeing Penny-pinching Has Hurt Supply Chain: Boeing's aggressive cost-cutting with suppliers has reportedly damaged its own supply chain, contributing to the aviation giant's current struggles, according to a top union negotiator. Jon Holden, president of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers for District 751, said the company has been pressuring suppliers to cut costs since 2012. He expressed concern about undermining the health of the manufacturing process. Holden's local chapter represents 32,000 workers, with around 30,000 at Boeing. The union hopes to gain significant concessions from the new contract following negotiations in March.
