Missouri's Ascension Catholic Church has apologized after publishing a full-page bulletin calling for young men to form a militia to protect the congregation. The bulletin, published on 16 June, encouraged young men to join the "Legion of the Sancta Lana Council", a militia intended to protect the Holy Eucharist, the congregation, the clergy, and the church grounds. The church claims it was not aware of the advertisement, and has since removed it with an apology.
