Massachusetts bars homeless families from sleeping at Boston's Logan International Airport from July 9, providing additional shelter beds.
Homeless families will be barred from sleeping overnight at Boston's Logan International Airport from July 9, state officials in Massachusetts said. The state has opened additional overflow shelter beds for homeless families, including many newly-arrived migrants who have used the airport as a last resort. Families currently sleeping at the airport who are on the state's emergency assistance shelter waitlist will be offered transfers to the state's safety-net system, which includes a former prison in Norfolk that can house up to 140 families.
