Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi will become India's 30th Chief of Army Staff on June 30, succeeding General Manoj Pande. Dwivedi's 40-year career includes various command, staff, instructional, and foreign appointments. He has experience in the military standoff on the LAC in eastern Ladakh and will assume command as the Indian Army undergoes major modernization through indigenization and structural reforms.
