Kerala's CPI-M under ED investigation for bank fraud case; 29 crore assets attached.
Kerala's Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) is under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for its alleged involvement in a bank fraud case in Thrissur district. The ED has attached land and bank accounts associated with the CPI-M, totaling Rs 29 crore, as part of its probe into the case. The CPI-M has denied any knowledge of the ED's actions and insists that the practice of registering properties in the name of district secretaries is a long-standing party tradition. The bank fraud case has been at the center of recent Lok Sabha polls in Kerala.
