Indonesia plans to impose safeguard import duties, averaging over 100%, on various goods including footwear, clothing, textiles, cosmetics, and ceramics to protect domestic industries, Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan announced. The move follows concerns that imported goods could harm local micro, small, and medium enterprises. Indonesia mainly imports apparel and clothing accessories from China, Vietnam, and Bangladesh.
