EU and Egypt sign MoU for €1bn Macro-Financial Assistance and intensify private sector investments at the EU-Egypt Investment Conference. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that European companies are signing over 40 billion euros' worth of deals with Egyptian firms across various industries, part of the Egypt-EU Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership. The €1bn EU financing agreement, the first tranche of a larger €7.4bn package, is to be invested in sectors including clean energy, manufacturing, and food security.
