The Colorado Rockies designated utility player Alan Trejo for assignment, selecting infielder Aaron Schunk's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque in his place. Trejo, who exhausted his minor league option years, will either be traded or placed on waivers. Schunk, a right-handed utility infielder, is best suited for third base and second base, and the Rockies hope he can provide more offensive contributions than Trejo.
