Bangladesh's ruling Awami League (AL) plans a program at 3 pm on Saturday to counter the Bangladesh Nationalist Party's (BNP) rally at Nayapaltan party office in Dhaka, where BNP demands the unconditional release of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia. This marks the first time AL has organized a counter-programme against a BNP rally in eight months. BNP held a rally on June 26, urging Zia's release, which was their first major event since November 2020.
