20-year-old gymnast Fred Richard leads the U.S. Olympic gymnastics trials with an all-around score of 85.600, as local favorite Shane Wiskus and three-time national champion Brody Malone follow closely behind. Richard, who helped the U.S. team secure a world championships bronze in 2022, topped the high bar scores and delivered an outstanding floor routine during the opening night of the trials. Malone, the 2022 high bar world champion, totaled 85.10, while Wiskus scored 84.30. The top two finishers are expected to secure spots at the Paris Olympic Games.
