57-year-old council architect Colin Doig, who chased a 14-year-old boy with a meat cleaver after drinking most of three bottles of wine, has been spared jail and ordered to complete 225 hours of unpaid work. Doig also injured his wife, requiring her to have eight pins and a metal plate inserted. The architect, who works for Aberdeen City Council, admitted to the violent incident in 2022.
