West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wrote to PM Narendra Modi, requesting to abolish the NEET exam and restore state-government-conducted medical entrance exams. Banerjee claims that the centralized NEET system has led to corruption, negatively impacting medical education and care. The Central Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating alleged irregularities in NEET exams.
