Tyler, Texas begins construction of a new Smith County Courthouse in July 2021, set to last until July 2025. Street closures will affect downtown traffic and parking, including complete closure of Erwin Street between Spring Avenue and Fannin Avenue, Fannin Street from Erwin to Ferguson Street, and partial closure of Spring Avenue between Erwin and Ferguson. The county assures that traffic will continue to flow around the existing courthouse and annex building during the construction.
