Venture capitalists are increasingly supporting LGBTQ+ founders, aiming to help them grow their companies and create jobs. LGBTQ+ entrepreneurship nonprofit StartOut states that only 0.5% of the $2.1 trillion in startup funding between 2000-2022 was raised by LGBTQ+ founders, despite 7.2% of the U.S. population identifying as LGBTQ+. Chasing Rainbows, founded by Ben Stokes in 2021, is one fund investing in about 15 startups.
