Roaring Kitty, the meme stock investor known as "Keith Gill" on social media, posted a cryptic image of a dog on X (formerly Twitter), causing Chewy's, Petco, and PetMed Express' shares to spike. Shares of Chewy, which opened at $28.85, jumped as high as $39.10 after Gill's post, while Petco's shares rose as high as 14%, and PetMed's stock gained 10%. However, shares of the pet-focused companies gave up most of their gains by the close of Thursday trading.
