President Marcos Jr. said Leila de Lima's acquittal on drug charges shows that the Philippine justice system is working properly, and the country doesn't need the International Criminal Court's (ICC) involvement. Marcos Jr. maintained his stance that the ICC has no jurisdiction in the Philippines, as the country has a fully functional justice system. De Lima was acquitted from the last of three drug-related cases filed against her in 2017 after seven years of detention.
