Melbourne's tram network, the world's largest, will be operated by a new consortium led by French firm Transdev and Chinese-owned John Holland, in a $6.8 billion contract starting December 2024. The new partnership aims to improve reliability, customer service, and real-time information for passengers. The current operator, Keolis Downer, has been managing the network since 2009.
