Delhi's Lieutenant Governor dissolved the DDDC, accusing it of favoritism and excessive spending, amid controversy between the Aam Aadmi Party and Saxena.
Delhi's Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena has dissolved the Delhi Dialogue and Development Commission (DDDC), a think tank for the local government, and removed its non-official members. Saxena accused the DDDC of extending financial benefits and patronage to certain favored political people, and criticized the lack of transparent screening for positions and high salaries paid from public funds. The Aam Aadmi Party, which governs Delhi, called this a case of "petty politics" and accused Saxena of hypocrisy, citing examples of similar political appointments in other states and central commissions.
