China Three Gorges Renewables Group invests $11bn to expand solar and wind power projects in Inner Mongolia, supporting China's 455GW desert renewable plan by 2030.

China Three Gorges Renewables Group, a subsidiary of China's largest hydropower firm, is investing $11 billion to expand solar and wind power projects at a major clean energy base in Inner Mongolia. The company will construct a 16-gigawatt project combining renewable power and coal, along with a 5-gigawatt storage facility, at one of China's largest energy hubs in northwest Inner Mongolia. This investment supports China's plan to develop 455 gigawatts of desert renewable projects by 2030, with Inner Mongolia contributing 135 gigawatts.
