Arkansas Racing Commission awards Pope County casino license to Cherokee Nation Entertainment for a $320m Legends Resort & Casino project.

Arkansas Racing Commission unanimously awarded the Pope County casino license to Cherokee Nation Entertainment following a six-year process. The company plans to build the Legends Resort & Casino on a 325-acre site northeast of Russellville, with a 50,000 sq ft casino, 200-room hotel, and additional facilities. The $320m project will commence after 60-90 days of permitting and pre-construction work.
