27-year study in Neurology finds moderate/vigorous exercise reduces ALS risk in men, not women.
A study in Neurology suggests that moderate or vigorous exercise may reduce ALS risk in men, but not women. The research followed 373,696 Norwegian individuals for 27 years and found a 29% and 41% lower risk of ALS in male participants with moderate and high levels of physical activity, respectively. No association was found between physical activity and risk of ALS in female participants.
