24-year-old Dujaune DuBose, who shot Mobile Police Officer Ben Towarnyckyj in 2018, was sentenced to life in prison for attempted murder and first-degree theft of property. The incident occurred when DuBose, driving a stolen car, was approached by Towarnyckyj, who was investigating a stolen car report. DuBose also received a 12-year sentence for car theft, to be served if he's paroled on the attempted murder charge.
