2024 Pen Pinter Prize goes to Arundhati Roy for her "unflinching and unswerving" writing.
Arundhati Roy, the Booker Prize-winning Indian author, has been awarded the Pen Pinter Prize 2024 for her "unflinching and unswerving" writing. The annual award, established in 2009 by the charity English PEN, celebrates literature and defends freedom of expression. Roy, facing prosecution over historic comments on Kashmir, will receive the prize at a ceremony co-hosted by the British Library on October 10, where she will also deliver an address.
