Pakistan's Interior Minister reassured China of enhanced security for Chinese nationals in Pakistan after a suicide bombing.

Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reassured China of enhanced security for Chinese nationals working on infrastructure projects in Pakistan, following a suicide bombing in March. During a meeting with Chinese counterpart Qi Yanjun in New York, both discussed regional security issues, bilateral ties, and cooperation on training and capacity building for Pakistan's law enforcement agencies through modern equipment and technology. They praised the establishment of the Special Protection Unit in Islamabad, aimed at protecting Chinese citizens in Pakistan.
