Microsoft has agreed to buy 48 acres of land at Harworth's Skelton Grange site near Leeds for £106.6m, to develop a 'hyperscale' datacentre. The land deal consists of two parcels: Plot 1 (27 acres) will be sold on an unserviced basis for £52.9m, with completion targeted for 2024, and Plot 2 (21 acres) will be sold on a serviced basis for £53.2m, with completion in 2026. The former power station site was bought by Harworth in December 2014 for around £3m.
