MDA Space Ltd. has won a $1-billion contract from the Canadian Space Agency for the next phases of the Canadarm3 robotics system. Canadarm3 will be used on NASA's Gateway, a lunar orbit space station for the Artemis program. The contract funds the final design phase, construction, assembly, integration, and testing of the full robotics system, which includes a large arm, a smaller dexterous arm, specialized tools, and a ground segment for command and control. The contract also covers planning and training for on-orbit mission operations.
