Malaysia's Health Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, plans to amend the Medical Act 1971 to tackle issues related to specialist training, including parallel pathways and local master's degrees. The Medical (Amendment) Bill will be tabled in the fourth week of the ongoing Parliament session. The government has allocated RM142.4 million for the Master of Medicine Program and RM10 million for the Parallel Pathway Specialist Training program, with 6,933 medical officers receiving sponsorship for specialist training.
