28% of healthy UK over-60s have undiagnosed heart valve disease, increasing heart attack and stroke risk, per a UEA study.

A study by the University of East Anglia reveals that over a quarter of healthy over-60s in the UK have undiagnosed heart valve disease, which can increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Researchers examined 4,500 symptomless adults and discovered 28% had heart valve issues. The severity of cases increased with age, suggesting future targeted screenings for those most at risk.
