A Garda officer, John Francis Ryan, has been sent for trial in Dublin's Circuit Court on charges of endangering life in relation to a fatal car crash on the N7 in Dublin in July 2021. Three men from a Tallaght-based gang died in the collision when their car crashed into a truck on the N7 highway while fleeing Gardaí. The officer is accused of driving recklessly, posing a substantial risk of death or serious injury. A coroner's inquest into the men's deaths has been adjourned pending the outcome of the judicial process.
