Energy billionaire Sarath Ratanavadi, Thailand's second-richest person, is expanding his data center business to tap the booming AI and cloud computing market. Gulf Energy Development and partners plan to invest an additional 10 billion baht ($271m) to double their outlay on a Bangkok data center, increasing energy consumption to 50 megawatts from 25. Demand for data centers is rising in Southeast Asia, with global tech companies investing heavily in cloud computing and AI services.
