A British couple bought an entire French village for £400k after selling their three-bedroom Manchester home for the same amount. Liz Murphy, 47, and her husband, David, 55, acquired the rural hamlet of Lac De Maison in south-west Poitou-Charentes, France, in January 2021. The couple transformed their peaceful locale into a lucrative business, with their trio of holiday homes almost fully booked for the summer. Previously involved with radio, the couple are now self-sufficient and no longer depend on employers.
