Bar Council of India asks Indian Bar Associations not to protest new criminal laws, plans to discuss concerns with Union Government.
Bar Council of India (BCI) has asked Indian Bar Associations not to protest or agitate against new criminal laws replacing the Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, and Indian Evidence Act. BCI plans to discuss concerns with the Union Government and seeks intervention of Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav to mediate. BCI assures legal community that their concerns are being taken seriously and there is no immediate need for protests.
