Tamil Nadu's main opposition party AIADMK is holding a hunger strike on June 27 demanding a CBI probe into the deaths caused by illicit arrack consumption, specifically the Kallakurichi hooch tragedy. The party, led by Edappadi K Palaniswami, is also condemning the denial of permission to raise the issue in the state Assembly and the suspension of AIADMK MLAs during the ongoing Assembly session.
