44-year-old Heather Leigh Smith, a nurse at Prince George Healthcare Center in Georgetown, is charged with six counts of first-offense theft of a controlled substance and six counts of exploitation of a vulnerable adult. Authorities allege that Smith stole a quantity of oxycodone and hydrocodone/acetaminophen from six patients between Feb. 19 and March 7, 2023. She was arrested and posted bond later that day.
