A young child was hit by a car in Shotton, Flintshire, and taken to hospital. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to Chester Road West shortly before 12.30pm on Wednesday. The child was later taken to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool by road ambulance, while police warn of heavy congestion in the area, urging people to avoid it and find alternative routes.
