WVU researchers are refining a home sleep apnea detection device with support from the National Science Foundation, aiming for faster diagnosis and treatment of the illness. Dr. Sunil Sharma and his team have developed prototypes of wearable devices, including a watch and a fingertip clip, for patients to use while sleeping at home. These prototypes incorporate artificial intelligence technology for more efficient diagnosis and treatment.
