Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, has endorsed NHAI's plan for implementing the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-based Electronic Toll Collection system in India. The IHMCL, a subsidiary of NHAI, organised an international workshop to discuss the implementation of GNSS technology for free-flow tolling systems in India, with industry experts from the US and Europe sharing insights on a smooth transition. Gadkari believes GNSS technology enhances navigation and positioning, playing a crucial role in modernising toll collection systems, ensuring seamless travel, and reducing congestion on roads.
