Uganda's first direct oil imports, totaling 70,000 tonnes, are set to arrive at Mombasa port on July 2, marking the end of Kenya's oil marketers' monopoly. The deal between Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) and Vitol Bahrain aims to lower pump prices and increase fuel throughput, benefiting both countries. The oil will be delivered through the Kipevu Oil Terminal 2 (KOT2) and transported by Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) facilities.
