Sydney's Enmore Road becomes Australia's first permanent Special Entertainment Precinct after a successful two-year trial.

Enmore Road in Sydney, Australia has been designated as the first permanent Special Entertainment Precinct (SEP) following a successful two-year trial. The trial boosted the area's vibrancy, supported local businesses hosting live music and artistic events, and revitalized the Inner West community. The SEP provisions include extended trading hours for venues hosting live entertainment, relaxed noise restrictions, approval for outdoor dining until 11pm every night, and a reduction in the number of government agencies policing complaints. This model is set to be replicated statewide, with 18 councils expressing interest in establishing their own SEPs.
