2023 Romanian cinema spending increased 25% to EUR 63M, with 13.02M tickets sold, near 2019 levels.
Romanians spent EUR 63 million in cinemas in 2023, a 25% increase compared to 2022. The total number of tickets sold reached 13.02 million, 16% more than in 2022 and close to the 2019 level. The data from the Romanian Film Center and analyzed by real estate consultancy Cushman & Wakefield Echinox also revealed that cinema operators reported a 25% increase in box office compared to 2022, reaching 308.8 million lei (EUR 63 million).
