Punjab's govt allocates INR 500 crore to combat stubble burning ahead of the paddy harvest season, with 21,511 applications received for subsidies on Crop Residue Management (CRM) machinery. The initiative offers individual farmers a 50% subsidy and cooperative societies and panchayats up to 80%. The agriculture department plans to launch an educational campaign to teach farmers how to use the technologies for crop residue management.
