PLDT and Smart Communications have blocked over 500 million smishing messages, blacklisted 100,000 SIMs linked to scams, and partnered with the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center to combat cybercrimes. Globe Telecom has also enhanced its SIM registration system, deactivating over 30 million unregistered SIMs. Both companies are strengthening their security measures to protect customers from fraudulent activities.
