Perth City Council approved a 7-meter tall Boonji Spaceman statue as a gift from US artist Brendan Murphy, personalized with the City of Light brand. It's planned for temporary installation in front of Council House near kangaroo statues, with potential relocation to Elizabeth Quay. The council also approved funding for two new events: PrideWA's PrideFEST will take place in November, with Pride Gardens in the Supreme Court Gardens, and Dinosaurs Alive, an event to exhibit life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, expected in October.
