Filmmaker Martyn Atkins is suing Warner Music Group for allegedly using his copyrighted footage without permission in a 2021 documentary about Tom Petty's "Wildflowers" album. Atkins, who frequently photographed Petty in the 1990s and served as art director of "Wildflowers," claims he was never compensated for the film's unauthorized use of his work and that producers misrepresented the film's archival footage as newly discovered.
