Brazilian police official Valdecy Urquiza elected to lead Interpol for 2025-2030.

Interpol's executive committee has elected Brazilian police official Valdecy Urquiza as its preferred candidate to lead the international police agency for the first time. Urquiza, 43, will succeed Juergen Stock of Germany and serve as Interpol's head from 2025 to 2030, if ratified by the general assembly in November. This marks the first time a police official from a developing nation is elected to lead the organization.
