Bombay High Court upholds college ban on hijab, burka, and naqab, dismissing students' rights argument.
The Bombay High Court has refused to interfere in a city-based college's decision to impose a ban on hijab, burka, and naqab within its premises. The court dismissed a petition filed by nine girl students from the college, who argued that the ban infringed upon their fundamental rights to practice their religion, privacy, and personal choice. The college's directive prohibited students from wearing hijab, naqab, burka, stoles, caps, and badges on campus grounds.
